Subterranean

My two-year-old daughter is obsessed with the story of Aida. In the opera, Aida and her lover Radames are buried alive in a subterranean tomb and die together.
So my daughter likes to bury herself under the blanket and be Aida. Cute and a bit morbid.

By the way, Leo and Dianne Dillon illustrated a beautiful picture book of Aida, which we just checked out from the local library today.

Well, there is something so romantic about it, don't you think? What a lovely blanket and the imagination under it! I love that book, too.

How sweet. Funny how kids can be inspired and turn it into their own versions

Kid's imagination is so powerful :D

This is brilliant. And amazing to find a 2 year old who's heard of Aida let alone loves it.

Lovely simplicity to the drawing - perfect for your anecdote. We too have the Dillons' Aida. Stunning, yet the images do not overshadow the text. Thanks for sharing.
